Description

Maasai Shuka is a traditional fabric originating in East Africa, worn by the Maasai people, mainly from Kenya and Tanzania. It’s a cotton plaid fabric, often in the form of a blanket, with bright red and blue colors. The Maasai identity is often defined by colorful beaded necklaces, an iron rod (used as a weapon), and, of course, the iconic red shuka cloth. While red is the most common color, the Maasai also use blue, striped, and checkered cloth to wrap around their bodies. Shuka is known for its durability, strength, and thickness, protecting the Maasai from the harsh weather and terrain of the savannah
